Joost BosMy background

In 2003, I have completed my study in Business Administration at Groningen University, specializing in Financial Management. I started working at one of the ‘big four’ Audit & Consulting firms in The Netherlands, in the field of (international) Mergers & Acquisitions. It was a good experience to work with different finance specialists and to advise private equity as well as corporate companies. A good start to develop my financial and consulting skills.

My interests

After almost three years of due diligence work, mainly focusing on the financial performance (results) of a business, I got more and more interested in the commercial and organizational dynamics of a business. What are the main value drivers for companies to realize good financial
results and how can companies effectively organize their resources to support these value drivers? I found that business cases within this area were something I really wanted to be involved in.

Working at Nolan, Norton & Co.

In 2006, I came into contact with NNC. It was clear that NNC was the ideal working environment for me. First of all, NNC advises top management of large Dutch companies with various challenging management issues. Second, NNC has a group of young, ambitious and professional advisors, with a lot of business knowledge and experience. Last but not least, NNC pays a lot of attention to the development of consultants in terms of training and sharing knowledge and experiences. Since 2006, I have been working on a number of projects, ranging from small (just a few weeks) to large (up to six months). To projects also differed in type of advice: from the structuring of large Business Continuity Management (risk) programme for a large Dutch insurer, designing a performance management methodology within an industrial company, to setting up a financial model in a bid process for a large temping organization.

Looking at the future

NNC gave me the opportunity not only to work on my management and consulting skills in a professional environment, but also introduced me to various dynamics in the internal and external environment of companies.
Working for NNC has deepened my knowledge on topics like organizational design, business control, performance management and general programme management. Combined with a very informal and relaxed atmosphere within the office, I think my years at NNC are very valuable for my development on a professional as well as on a personal level.
