![]() Partner After my business administration studies I became a management consultant and never looked back. I studied business administration at the Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam and Hochschule St. Gallen. During an internship in Switzerland I got to know management consultancy and started to like the analytical, people oriented, fast paced, result driven, team based, problem solving nature of the business. After returning to the Netherlands, I joined KPMG Consulting and started working for the Business Unit Organisation Design & Governance. After two years, I switched to Nolan, Norton & Co., at the time a Business Units of KPMG Consulting. Ive worked for NNC ever since. In those years, I have worked on assignments in the financial sector, transport & logistics, electronics and telecommunications. My areas of expertise lie in the areas of strategy (strategy development, new business development), My interests Two topics that have my special attention are corporate renewal and post merger integration (PMI). Each large, established firm is confronted with the question how to constantly renew itself: how to design and implement new strategies, how to develop new businesses, how enter new markets, how to change business models. Change is a necessity. But how can this change in strategy and organization be realised in the context of a large corporation, that is built on and holds on to the successes of the past? Many of the assignments that NNC performs in one way or the other relate to this topic of corporate renewal. A second field of interest is PMI. We all know that 70% of mergers and acquisitions do not create value. An important factor in realizing post merger value is a high quality and well designed post merger integration process. NNC has supported many companies in integration projects. The spread of our propositions (strategy-organisation-IT-execution) and our consulting approach (hands on, result driven) make us a valued partner in these type of projects. My personal interest is how to tailor a project to the specific aspects of the type of integration in such a way that success is guaranteed.
Working at Nolan, Norton & Co. Never a dull moment. Much longer than I first anticipated, I have now been working for NNC for 12 years. In those 12 years, there have always been new and interesting clients, colleagues and challenges. As a consultant at NNC, you are not allocated to a specific industry or proposition from day one. Instead, you get the opportunity to get acquainted with a variety of industries, client organisations and propositions. Also, it guarantees working together with different colleagues in each assignment, learning from each one of them. In addition, by growing through the ranks from junior consultant to partner, the specific requirements of the job constantly change. This all combined makes my job today just as interesting or even more interesting than the first day I started. The icing on the cake are my colleagues: NNC is a bunch of energetic, down to earth, professional people, with whom it is a pleasure to work. Looking at the future With the Management Buy Out of NNC in 2006 a new chapter in its 20 year history in the Netherlands started. This chapter is not completed and it will definitely not prove to be the last chapter in the NNC book. Im looking forward to contributing to further strengthening our position as a leading consultancy firm and to further build NNC with current and future staff, supporting current and new clients by defining and executing their strategy. |
