After defining the IT Strategy for 2002-2004 an update was needed for the 2005-2007 period. Our client in this case was one of Europes leading temping organisations, with operating companies in amongst others the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, UK and Italy.
Client description:
Over a three year period significant progress was made in the area of IT. A major cost reduction was achieved and specific corporate applications were developed. At the same time IT delivery organisations (local and corporate) were being restructured and upgraded.
Client issues
After realising part of the IT strategy and initiating several major projects the client needed a strategic vision & direction for the next period. The main questions to be answered in the updated IT Strategy were:
- What should our vision on the role of IT be?
- What will the future IT organisation look like?
- How to govern and manage IT?
- Are the proper mechanisms in place to realise effective IT governance?
- What is the current status of the traditional & new applications?
- What is the overview and assessment of current IT projects?
- What business processes should IT support?
- What key performance indicators (KPIs) should be used for IT?
- What are the current financial arrangements, and is there room for improvement?
