Situation

My tenure as a COO at Royal KPN Netherlands ran from 1999 to the end of 2001. Turbulent times first started with the rise of the Internet age, the increasing fixed-mobile cannibalisation and subsequently 9/11 and the bursting of the internet bubble. As COO it was my responsibility to implement a dramatic change in the organisation to realise the overall strategy and align the organisation structure, staffing, processes and IT systems accordingly. This was not a small challenge in an organisation with more than 29.000 employees and over 1000 IT systems. A challenge for which I needed a competent and trusted partner that could assist me and my staff in covering an enormous amount of ground in a very short time period.
